Sparty and Friends has learned through published reports that Will Muschamp will be named the Head Coach as soon as Today.
Muschamp was to be Texas Longhorns coach in waiting, but it seems as though he has decided to instead return to Auburn where he was the defensive coordiantor two years ago.
Sparty and Friends are reporting this “rumor” based on published reports. Judge for yourself based on the following information….
Fox 10 News in Mobile, Alabama reported the following on it’s website
FOX10 News sources have told us Auburn will likely name Will Muschamp its new head coach sometime Friday. Muschamp was Auburn’s defensive coordinator two years ago.
WVUE in New Orleans first reported Muschamp would likely be the Tigers new coach.
This season he was on the sidelines as the Defensive Coordinator for the Texas Longhorns. He was also named as the Longhorns Head Coach in waiting.
We will continue to update this story as it develops here on Fox10tv.com.
here is the TV Clip from Mobile
ESPN reported the Fox 10 report on the late night Sportscenter as well. The following video was rapidly pulled off of the television (not high quality video)…but that video is below.
Can you trust us this time? Well we aren’t breaking the news this time only trying to be one of the first to report it.
We will update this post as more information becomes available throughout the day.

I’m in Auburn and we all believe that Spurrier will be named head coach before noon today… Also, Bill Oliver will be coming out of retirement to be our Defensive Coordinator… again, rumors… but they are interesting…

If Spurrier does go to Auburn, that is some serious offense going on (potentially) in the sec west. If Mullen can get anything going at Miss St (good luck) and Spurrier at Auburn, Petrino at Arkansas and the rest it could be a big change in philosophy in the coming years.

WarDamnEagle…are you the biggest moron on the face of the planet, or do you have some sort of handicap that prevents you from seeing basic truths.
Spurrier is not going to Auburn. End of story.
What an idiot.

The Auburn coaching job is slowly becoming the SEC equivalent of the Oakland Raiders job. All of these coaches(Muschamp, Hoak, Spurrier, etc) flat out denying any interest to the job is like pouring gasoline onto the fire. Nobody in their right mind would take this job.

I would clean the public restrooms at Auburn with a toothbrush for 3 years if I got paid an SEC coach’s salary for it. I’d be able to retire after those 3 years and travel the world off the interest.

Last update on ESPN radio said as follows:
-Steve Spurrier has flat out said NO
-Gene Chizik, former Auburn DC and current Iowa State Head Coach, interviewed yesterday
-also reportedly talking to TCU’s Gary Patterson, Buffalo’s Turner Gill, and Wake Forest’s Jim Grobe.
Its probably all Bull Shit. It is of course Auburn. Classic Auburn. Auburn AD Jay Jacobs comes off looking and sounding like a simple minded moron. There is no way that they could have fucked this up any worse. well, wait a few days and see. They might shock us.

Turner Gill might be a good hire. Your not going to out-Saban, Saban. Gill might be a good story on the recruiting trail.
