First round match-ups of the NBC Region are ready to roll now. The featured match-up is the always intriguing 5 vs 12 game. It involves two of the biggest asses in the history of sitcoms between Roseanne and Becker. I never got into Becker. Ted Danson will always be Sam Malone to me.

Who the hell voted for How I Met Your Mother over Seinfeld?
#2 by Anonymous on March 18, 2010 - 10:52 am
Not me, but I will when I get home from work.
#3 by john on March 18, 2010 - 10:53 am
I agree with Anonymous!
#4 by HawkEye19 on March 18, 2010 - 10:52 am
Me. Seinfeld’s just not that funny
#5 by cbh49er on March 18, 2010 - 10:38 am
I did, screw Seinfeld. Overrated.
I like the ones where I have heard of neither show.
#6 by Triston27 on March 18, 2010 - 10:47 am
That’s a tough matchup for Seinfeld. Suprised HIMYM was seeded so low.
#7 by sparty on March 18, 2010 - 10:49 am
that show blows
#8 by knightro on March 18, 2010 - 11:11 am
this
#9 by sparty on March 18, 2010 - 10:59 am
something wrong with all of you that thinks HIMYM is good television. the aughts blow.
#10 by HawkEye19 on March 18, 2010 - 11:04 am
We’re all right, and YOU are wrong!
/circular argument
#11 by stalkingerinandrews on March 18, 2010 - 11:00 am
How is Drew Carey pitching a shutout? Granted, I voted for Drew Carey, but still! Nobody votes for Ginger and Mary Ann?
#12 by Johnny on March 18, 2010 - 11:06 am
I agree with Sparty How I Met Your Mother sucks. Though this bracket makes me sad to think i’m one of only 5 scrubs fans
#13 by knightro on March 18, 2010 - 11:14 am
Make that 6 Scrubs fans. However, the current manifestation of Scrubs is a mere shadow of the original.
#14 by Johnny on March 18, 2010 - 11:21 am
I agree, I mean it’s still funny but there was something missing from this season. If last night was the end of the series I wouldn’t care, but I was much more emotionally invested with last year’s finale
#15 by HawkEye19 on March 18, 2010 - 11:35 am
7. at least through last year. This year mostly blows. I’m going to hit my TV due to the annoying silver spoon kid soon.
#16 by mrejr8234 on March 18, 2010 - 12:25 pm
scrubs fan here. i got your back
#17 by shut up, kids on March 18, 2010 - 11:12 am
Seems to me the kids today don’t get Seinfeld. It’s a shame, really.
#18 by jpq1999 on March 18, 2010 - 11:14 am
I have never seen a minute of HIMYM, and I am better for it. How Coach is beating The Golden Girls, I’ll never know, but I’m pleasantly surprised how Frasier is hanging in.
#19 by knightwhosaysni on March 18, 2010 - 11:27 am
Mary Ann > Ginger and Gilligan’s Island > any other show in this bracket
#20 by Johnny on March 18, 2010 - 11:33 am
Disagree on both counts. I LOVED Gilligan’s Island, but Seinfeld was better (Seinfeld is the only show better than Gilligan in this region).
And Ginger was a redhead, totally hot. Mary Ann was pretty and had a much better personality. Wait the more I think about it Ginger’s slight edge in attractiveness doesn’t match Mary Ann’s great edge in personality. I change my mind Mary Ann is better
#21 by knightwhosaysni on March 18, 2010 - 11:38 am
To be honest no one on here would turn either Mary Ann or Ginger down.
#22 by sparty on March 18, 2010 - 11:39 am
The professor was hot.
/Trey’d
#23 by GatorTrey on March 18, 2010 - 11:42 am

/Pat’d
He’s the one whose Pre-Op right now.
#24 by sparty on March 18, 2010 - 11:49 am
well, he is at the doctor right now.
#25 by cleet on March 18, 2010 - 11:50 am
Who the fuck is voting for Fraiser?
#26 by Glass Yard Dog on March 18, 2010 - 12:09 pm
OK, I voted for Frasier. I’m all about watching pompous asses, I am a UM fan.
And sparty, don’t you think you were a little hard on the Beaver? Only a 14 seed?
/rimshot
#27 by jpq1999 on March 18, 2010 - 12:09 pm
this guy. I didn’t realize only cool hipsters who grew up on the acting talents of Screetch and Kelly Kapowski were allowed to vote. I thought we voted for “best” here, not bad ones we remembered watching in our jammies
/faux outrage’d
#28 by Glass Yard Dog on March 18, 2010 - 12:12 pm
wow, cleet and I actually have a divergence of thought. Who knew it was possible?
jpq almost 49, and GYD is now 45. Two votes for Frasier. Coincidence? I think not.
#29 by knightro on March 18, 2010 - 12:17 pm
3 votes for Frasier. Saved By The Bell is swill. Might actually have been written and produced by the 8th grade class at a junior high somewhere in California. Sad reality is that it was written by adults(?).
#30 by mrejr8234 on March 18, 2010 - 12:19 pm
I’m not gonna lie back in the day before I knew what the fuck was going on I thought Rosanne was the tits but now I watch and see a show where the star is a ego maniac who had the writers write her character lioke she had all the answers and the men were running around like a bunch of retards and the rest of the family can’t go through the day without asking her opinion on something because they know she’ll have the answer and their life would just fall apart without her. fuck that show
#31 by jpq1999 on March 18, 2010 - 12:20 pm
Knightro: you, GYD and I need to meet and share a Metamucil sometime :D
#32 by knightro on March 18, 2010 - 12:27 pm
Here is what is happening here: You younger guys are voting based on nostalgia. Shows like Saved By The Bell remind you of your youth and getting a nudger for Tiffany Amber-Pieface-Thiessen. It takes you back to a younger happier time with fewer cares and responsibilites. I understand that. But us older, wiser folk have let that go. We embrace our current lives…filled with trials and tribulations. This acceptance allows us to revisit the past with the clarity necessary to vote based on the quality and true value of the show, not the ability of the show to help us revisit our adolescence/young adulthood.
You kids know Frasier is the sharper show. Do the right thing…vote with your heads…not your sappy, I-wanna-be-15-again hearts!
#33 by cleet on March 18, 2010 - 12:37 pm
You realize this is about sitcoms right? Not exactly the pinacle of humam intellectual achievment. I appreciate you taking such a moral high ground on a subject such as this. Sorry if I offended the Fraiserites, but I still enjoy SBTB every morning on TBS and have no problems accepting my current life. Sometimes value of a show can be measured in more than just the writing or acting.
#34 by knightro on March 18, 2010 - 12:43 pm
It was all tongue in cheek, cleet.
#35 by sparty on March 18, 2010 - 12:29 pm
knightro- what you are saying is how i feel towards all shows in the aughts.
#36 by Glass Yard Dog on March 18, 2010 - 12:33 pm
Well put Knightro.
And I’ll pass on the Metamucil, just hand me a chocolate Fiber One bar, please.
#37 by mrejr8234 on March 18, 2010 - 12:37 pm
So what’s Cabbage’s excuse for not voting for the Cosby show? Cosby show pwns The Addams Family in so many ways.
#38 by cabbage on March 18, 2010 - 12:40 pm
Only catagory that I didn’t vote in. Both shows SUCK.
#39 by mrejr8234 on March 18, 2010 - 12:44 pm
golden girls >>>>>> coach…sorry folks i love me some dauber and coach van dam but those ladies were funny as hell
#40 by guyinthecorner on March 18, 2010 - 12:45 pm
I know that this tournament is awesome, but because of it you guys may have missed the Names of the NCAA Tournament post. Check it out.
#41 by cleet on March 18, 2010 - 12:45 pm
I know man, I’m not trying to stir anything up. I forgot cardinal rule #1 of the internets: no matter what, there are people out there that don’t like what you like.
#42 by knightro on March 18, 2010 - 12:53 pm
No worries dude. I thought I was over-the-top enough to make it obvious faux outrage. Everyone should watch and enjoy what they like!
#43 by cabbage on March 18, 2010 - 12:46 pm
Truth. Couldn’t stand the wife in it.
#44 by mrejr8234 on March 18, 2010 - 12:48 pm
Mrs Huxtable was a cougar..you were dumb enough to pay attention to her when she opened her pie hole.
#45 by cabbage on March 18, 2010 - 12:48 pm
Is that show with that little hottie Topanga gonna be in the tournament?
/dirty old man’d
#46 by mrejr8234 on March 18, 2010 - 12:49 pm
Boy meets World. fuck yeah !
#47 by sparty on March 18, 2010 - 12:48 pm
it’s on every morning?
#48 by cleet on March 18, 2010 - 12:51 pm
Yes sir. TBS has it in sindication. I think it runs 7-9am. I catch it as I am getting ready for work from 7-8.
#49 by jpq1999 on March 18, 2010 - 12:53 pm
No wonder Ahmad and OJ were fucking hundreds of white chicks in the 70′s in my neighborhood when I’d ride by on my bike
#50 by sparty on March 18, 2010 - 12:58 pm
jpq- before OJ went to jail, were you seeing him playing the links down there in parkland?
#51 by cabbage on March 18, 2010 - 12:58 pm
You see cougar, I see bitch.
#52 by mrejr8234 on March 18, 2010 - 1:05 pm
Again you made the mistake of using your ears when she spoke. The mom on everybody loves raymond is probably the most annoying character to have ever been on tv..now there is a bitch
#53 by guyinthecorner on March 18, 2010 - 1:04 pm
Holy crap! No BMW in the tourney?!?!? My boycott starts now.
#54 by patphish on March 18, 2010 - 2:35 pm
It was the last show on the bubble. Their OOC schedule sucked.
#55 by jpq1999 on March 18, 2010 - 1:04 pm
sparty: no, never saw The Juice. Saw MJ once. My son said he owned a house here, but I never saw it/knew which one it might have been. Girardi’s still got his place here, along with a ton of hockey guys (Luongo, Jokinen, etc) and that c**t Dara Torres
#56 by Johnny on March 18, 2010 - 2:37 pm
Where was scrubs on the bubble Pat?
